The Linton Police Department has issued an alert late Wednesday morning about a man posing as a police officer in neighboring Monroe County. Chief Troy Jerrell emphasized there have been no reports of this type of incident in the Linton area. "King of the Demos" will present a demolition derby -- featuring cars, trucks and mini cars -- at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be $10 with $2 parking. * Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is coming this fall to First Baptist Church, 500 Lincoln Drive in Bloomfield. Ramsey is a nationally known Christian financial expert. His mission is to help people establish healthy spending plans, reduce debt and mange God's resources more effectively. The 13-week learning experience involves DVDs, study guides and group discussion. It will begin in September with the community welcome to participate.
