He was born in Linton on April 30, 1952 to William "Billy" and Mary Margaret (Hall) Pritchard. Jim married Nancy L. Powell on Dec. 18, 1971. Jim served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army as an MP in Korea DMZ. Afterwards he was employed with Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane assigned to the transportation department. He retired in 2001. Jim enjoyed his music, poetry, and the outdoors. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Pritchard; three sons, Dylan (Cassie) Pritchard of Mount Vernon, Jake Pritchard of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Joshua (Karin) Pritchard of Evansville; he was also survived by three grandchildren, Avery, Isaac and Zoey; one brother, William "Pete" (Gilda) Pritchard of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Linda (Tim) Taylor of Linton, Brenda (David) Hughey of Franklin, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Friends called at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 17. A private family service will be held later.
